Talk: Sustainable Graphic Design

What can graphic designers do for sustainability?   

I had a great opportunity to talk about sustainability in graphic design at &Robin. They kindly invited me to speak at their B-corp Breakfast session. It is nice to talk to fellow graphic designers who are trying to reduce their environmental footprint, do something positive for climate and be transparent about their activities. They are in the process of obtaining a B-corp certificate. Hope it will go well for them! And it will be a good possibility-model for other design studios.

コペンハーゲンのグラフィックデザイン事務所 &Robin に呼ばれて、「グラフィックデザインにおけるサステイナビリティ」をテーマにトークをしました。＆Robinは、B-Corpという国際認証をとろうとしていて、会社内でも勉強会を開いているそうです。B-Corpは環境や社会に配慮した公益性の高い企業を認証するもので、審査を通過するには多くの条件があります。&Robinでは、紙媒体のデザインが少ないので、プロジェクトの透明性を高めたり、デジタルデザインのCO2の排出量を減らしたりという試みができそうという話をしました。取得が困難な認証をデザイン事務所がとろうとしている姿勢そのものが、周りによい影響を与えられそうで、私も刺激になりました。
