Instagram account to educate people about climate change

I have been designing the Instagram account Climate Dictionary together with another designer Atsushi Y since the autumn of 2022.

The team leader eri, the CEO of the DEPT company, promotes sustainability but also does activism around climate crisis and social injustices.

We aim to educate Japanese people about climate crisis from various perspectives. It covers basic knowledge of climate science, climate terminology, possible actions for individuals, and also positive changes and inventions around the world.

It is shocking to realise that the majority of people in Japan still don’t know how threatening climate change is. I have witnessed a lot less media coverage of climate change in Japan compared to Europe over the past couple of years. We hope that this account will help to raise awareness around the issue.

2022年の秋から、もう１人のデザイナー Atsushi Y と共に 気候辞書というインスタグラムアカウントのデザインを担当しています。

チームリーダーのeriさんはDEPT という会社のCEOでありつつ、たくさんの気候変動や政治に関わるアクティビズムを行っている人です。

私たちは気候危機にまつわるさまざまな事柄をより多くの人に伝えたいと思い、このプロジェクトを始めました。気候変動についての科学的な知識、よく使われる言葉の解説、個人ができるアクション、また世界中で起きているポジティブな変化やイノベーションなどを発信しています。

気候危機の状況をすべて知ろうとするのは大変なので、このアカウントが情報を得るときの役立つツールになれば幸いです。また「自分の言葉で発信する自信はないけれど、周りの人に気候変動のことを知ってほしい」 と思っている人たちのシェアコンテンツになれば。ぜひ気候辞書のアカウントをフォローして、投稿をシェアしてもらえたらうれしいです。
